Coal Creek Family YMCA Chili 5k: Encouraging Healthy Living and Community Development

 

OBJECTIVE
The Coal Creek Family YMCA was looking to increase participation and involvement in their annual 5k event. Their hope was to bring a fresh perspective to promotional material to replace the visual theme that they had been using for years. 

SOLUTION
I sought to create imagery that conveyed the main aspects of the event, a Chili Cook-off and a 5k run. I ensured that the promotional material was fun and would appeal to the target audience, families who are a part of the YMCA community. The imagery fits within the YMCA brand, while still feeling fresh and unique to this particular event.

FLYERS AND POSTERS
The print material was intended to spread the word about the 5k. Flyers and posters were found around the community and within the Coal Creek Family YMCA.
 

 
 

 

SOCIAL MEDIA COUNTDOWN AND POSTS
A variety of social media graphics were created in a range of colors to help the Coal Creek Family YMCA promote their event. The goal was to generate interest among members and get the community excited about registering and participating.

NEWSLETTER EMAIL
An email was sent out to members of the YMCA in order to promote the event. 
 

 
 

 

SHIRTS
Each participant that registered for the event received a shirt. These served as an incentive for signing up and continued to fuel excitement and interest leading up to day of.
